Thanks again Tyler. He was a great help getting this porch framed in and some roof work done around the dormer. It is coming together great. I just hope I get it wrapped in by the time it start snowing!

Deck Time!

Here is the deck framing. I helped daddy do all the woods. He let me hold them while he nailed them. It sure was loud when he would shoot the nails. It was hard to plug my ears and hold the wood at the same time. I love helping daddy build with wood.
Here is the finished deck. We forgot the drill, so we will have to screw them down next time.
This is how we left it. Sure is getting pretty here already. I hope we can make it enough this year to get the exterior done so we can actually sleep here.

Winter Damage!

Deer??
Winter Clean-up
We had to bring up all these materials today. Sure was a lot of work.
Kayston is sure anxious for his treehouse to be built. Hopefully this fall we will have time to build it and connect it to the cabin.
He sure is keeping up with his little tree by the stream.

Me and Daddy had a great summer working on the cavin. We will miss coming up here. Maybe we can come play in the snow once. I guess we will have to build the basement at home to keep busy until spring. See you again then!
Here is the front again. It has the tarp and tar paper up for the winter to keep the snow off until we make it back up in the spring. Hope it doesn't slide away over the winter. We'll see how the piers do. Next spring we will work on the porch area and roof.
Here is the back. I hope we can build a fire pit back here next summer. I like to chop wood back there now.
We bolted down the Generator Doghouse and covered it for the winter.
Here is the backside of the cabin. You can see how the Generator House is compared to the cabin.
OOOOOOOOOO! Daddy put all the wood around so I can't fall out of the bunk loft now. Bummer...
Time to get to work. Used our new wheeler to pull the trailer up to the new cabin road with all the tools.

Almost Ready for Winter!

Here is where Daddy and I get to sleep when we get the cabin done. I think next year he will build my bridge out that window to my treehouse. I can't wait! We had a fun time!

Font Roof
We got most of the sheets on the roof. Still need a few in the front and around the sides. But at least now most of the snow and rain can't get in.
We started by putting the "Dog House" for the generator in it's final location. Daddy still needs to bolt it down.
Here is where we left off last Saturday. We had to leave because a storm was moving in and we couldn't take any pictures.

2nd Floor Here we Come!

We had a great time again working on the cabin. It was hard for daddy to carry the preframed walls up the ladder and the huge ridge beam, but everything went great! Next time we will work on the roof. Hopefully we can get that on before the winter. All this work makes me need to pee...This is a huge milestone in my life. First time I went pee in the mountains.

The Cabin finally has a second floor! Now for the roof...

Smile....1 2 3 Cheese! We sure had a good time! I collected lots of branches for the fire. Not very many bugs up here. Daddy gave me a bag to collect them, but all I put in it was some dirt. I can't seem to remember where I put it though?
This is my fort. Daddy is going to build me a treehouse in this someday. I like to find bugs here.
Daddy sure is sweaty. It's amazing how he can still be so chunky but sweat so much. I took this picture all by myself. Good huh?
Daddy just threw out the doghouse on the ground. This is for his generator. He said he needs to wait until someone comes to help to move it to the concrete "poison" pad.
Here is the back of our cabin. Maybe we can build a fire pit here somewhere?
What do you think about the front door. We will cut the windows out just before we are ready to put on the siding.

End of July Trip

Most of the stuff Daddy calls sheathing is on the first floor. The air compressor struggled at this altitude, so we will finish stapling it next time.
Here is the 2nd floor where we are going to sleep. It just has one board up for now. Can't wait until that is done so we can connect it to a tree house just outside the window!!
Last week I helped build these walls at home, and we hauled them up in the back of the truck. They sure went up quicker this way.
Here we are loaded up. I just stayed in the truck most of the day and watched my new Scooby Doo movie while Daddy worked.

Floor System

This is going to be the area to take the snapshots on the cabin as it is getting built. Can't wait to sleep over when it's done! We had a great trip again. Glad it didn't rain like last week.
Here is a picture of the floor system for the cavin. It starts with the piers, then a treated 2x6, then a 1/2" 4x8 foam sheet to keep the critters out, followed by 2x10 joists. This should be a solid floor for our mini cabin. Daddy is a little sad because he didn't get as much done as he wanted. We had to leave the insulation and T&G floor there. Next time we will get that done.
Here is a picture of the piers that we made at home and Daddy put in the holes. He used that loud saw to cut them down if they were too long. I just hung out in the shade with my buddy caterpillar.
I found this great little fuzzy black Caterpillar. I kept it all day and took it home with me. Daddy did put his drink on it when we were coming home. I said "Daddy why did you do that". I think it is o.k. I put it in the dirt at home so it could play.

Getting Ready for the Real Work

Nice shirt! Need I say more? Another great trip to the Butterfly mountains!
Well here is where my tree house will go. I can't wait to have my hide out so Mommy and Daddy won't be able to find me; not to mention the Bears.
I love hiding up here on this big log when Daddy is hard at work. Climbing in the mountains is so fun. I love to get sticks and hit the trees. It also works great as a sword to kill the bears!
Next, we put all these flags in to know where to dig next time we come here. I was a little cold so Daddy let me use his warm gloves. Little big don't you think?
Here is the "Dog House" pad for the Generator. This is "poison" concrete, because Daddy told me that it will burn my hands if I touch it. I don't know why it's poison though...
Here is all the stuff we had to bring up to work on the Cavin. We actually made it up the skinny road Daddy made last time. Hooray!
